I’m a special education leader and curriculum designer passionate about creating inclusive, tech-enhanced learning environments that are as dynamic and individualized as the students they serve. My work spans public, charter, and nonpublic schools, EdTech development, and higher education, with a focus on equity, innovation, and outcomes.
At BEST Academy, I currently serve as a Special Education Teacher and LCAP Lead, supporting students in grades 5–12 with individualized instruction, IEP implementation, and post-secondary transition planning. I design and deliver SAI sessions in reading, writing, and math, mentor students through future-focused planning activities, and lead data-informed strategies that align with LCAP and ESSA goals. I also provide progress reporting, case management, and cross-team collaboration that ensures fidelity in IEP service delivery.
As a Special Education Specialist at Expatiate, I played a cross-functional role in educational product development and curriculum innovation. I created home learning content, designed a virtual coding camp for highly impacted learners, and helped bring an AI-powered predictive analytics platform (iTAAP) to launch readiness. My work also included compliance support, policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and the development of VillageED—an online parent and community resource hub for families of students with special needs.
Earlier in my career, I designed districtwide gamified curriculum solutions for Los Angeles Unified School District and introduced tools like Nearpod, SchoolAI, and even humanoid robots (Pepper and Kapono) to support instruction in alternative education classrooms. As a Graduate Assistant at CSULA, I supported faculty in the integration of AI and SEL tools post-COVID, and developed professional learning experiences for both educators and pre-service teachers.
My passion for instructional technology and inclusive design has also led me to:
Deploy humanoid robots in math instruction during my graduate assistantship at Cal State LA
Present at national conferences like CEC-DADD in Honolulu, and AERA in Denver
Help onboard educators in LAUSD to gamified, alternative curriculum frameworks
Whether mentoring students, training staff, or working behind the scenes on program design and evaluation, I’m deeply committed to the belief that learning should be meaningful, accessible, and empowering for every student.
SELECTED ACCOMPLISMENTS:
Launched a virtual summer coding camp for students with disabilities using Nearpod, Kodable, and Google Classroom.
Boosted vocabulary by 25% and spelling accuracy by 18% for neurodivergent students using game-based strategies.
Authored differentiated curriculum content and stakeholder resources for the VillageED platform.
Played a key role in ensuring compliance alignment with IDEA, ADA, and district policy in both instructional design and IEP goal development.
Featured on PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs for community advocacy and youth storytelling.
I bring energy, empathy, and a systems-level perspective to every project I lead. Whether designing a data-driven IEP tracker, facilitating student-led career reflections, or helping educators unlock the potential of emerging technologies, I am committed to transforming education through access, engagement, and purpose.
