I created this lesson plan for my high school Alternate Curriculum students. As my students spend much of their personal time on the internet, and as we are utilizing web resources with more regularity in the classroom, I planned on a series of Digital Citizenship lessons to support my students and to help them protect themselves while online.
I utilized the ISTE Standards and acquired some resources from both CommonSense.org and Code.org to create this two (2) day lesson on Digital Footprints. After creating the lesson, I went back and highlighted those applications that required Computational Thinking skills and made adjustments to my original lesson plan to better incorporate them.
The lesson was successfully delivered and the students were very engaged. They responded especially well to the Nearpod activity that I created.
